Behind-the-Scenes
There is a lot of behind-the-scenes work happening at the Komera Leadership Center to prepare for the Center construction! The architect and design team at BE Designs has completed the design drawings and are working with the engineer to finalize the project details prior to groundbreaking. The Rwanda Housing Authority has visited the site as part of the construction permit review process and we anticipate the final permit to be approved shortly.
We have updated interior design renderings of the Center to share!
Here is a sneak peak inside the Komera Office Hub which will house the Komera staff offices, shared workspace, meeting and collaboration areas.
The Health Advocacy and Counseling post is designed with large and small meeting rooms for both one-on-one counseling and trainings and meeting events with larger crowds.
We recently built a temporary on-site office building to be used for the construction team to work from as they direct the project.
Rwanda, like every country across the globe, has been fighting the COVID-19 pandemic which is making life very difficult. In July, the government increased restrictions as an effort to control the spread of the virus. The measures include curfews, mask mandates, social distancing, reduced gathering numbers, and restrictions on travel. The team is working hard to continue the project on-track as much as possible while keeping our staff and community safe.
Komera launched a Brick-by-Brick campaign to give our supporters an opportunity to help us build the Center and honor their gift with an inscribed dedication message that will be displayed on the building in Rwanda! To learn more and dedicate a brick to the Center, please click the link below.
