We are pleased to share the construction is ongoing as planned and we are progressing on schedule!

40% Female Workers

As an organization dedicated to the advancement of women, we are thrilled to share we are currently employing 40% female workers onsite! This is very important to us to continue to provide opportunities for women and learn new skillsets to contribute to this community project. In more good news, we are SO happy to have several Komera alumni working on the site! It is a beautiful full-circle achievement to have women who have participated in our programs now be employed to help build this Center that will serve future generations of young women just like them!

Construction Progress

The building foundation is completed and the crew is currently working on casting the ground beams. As you can see in the photos below, there is a lot of soil to remove and we have a hard-working team who is making slow and steady progress.

Vaccines & COVID-19 Safety Precautions

As we aim to protect our community, we are so pleased to share that all of the construction and project crew are now vaccinated against COVID-19! 100% of the project management staff and 70% of the construction workers are fully vaccinated with both doses, with the remaining 30% having gotten the first shot and awaiting the second soon. We are taking all measures to ensure the safety of our workers onsite, including weekly COVID-19 testing (below) providing PPE, and extra hand washing stations onsite. Since the beginning of the project construction, we have had ZERO positive cases of COVID-19 among our construction and project management team!

Thank you to the generous partners and individuals who have made our dream a reality. We are so thrilled to share the great progress of the Center, and are on-track to open the doors of the Center by September 2022!
