Komera welcomes Ashley Lackovich as new Managing Director

Komera announces the appointment of Ashley Lackovich as its new Managing Director.

Dear Komera Family,

Please join us in welcoming Ashley Lackovich as Komera’s new Managing Director! With nearly 20 years of experience in non-profit work and international development, Ashley brings unique knowledge and abundant expertise to our organization.

Like Komera, she has dedicated her life to promoting gender equality, empowering women and girls, and leading innovative programs to create lasting change in communities worldwide.

Ashley has been a passionate advocate for women’s leadership and empowerment both in her personal and professional achievements! Her credentials include a PhD in Leadership and Change from Antioch University, with a graduate degree from Skidmore College and undergraduate from the College of Wooster.

Ashley joins us from her recent role as Development Director at Glen Helen Association. While there, she led comprehensive fundraising efforts, and helped lead a successful multi-million dollar capital campaign. Prior to that, she served as Executive Director at the Brunner Literacy Center in Dayton, Ohio; the region’s only adult literacy center.

Ashley also brings to Komera deep international development experience. She has worked with women and girls globally, with a passion for partnering with adolescent girls to support their education, health, rights, and wellbeing. Ashley has led impactful initiatives, including directing Mercy Corps’ MENA Girl Center during the Syria Crisis and developing guidance on child marriage prevention and response for the UN Refugee Agency. Her work spans Ethiopia, Kenya, the DR Congo and throughout the Middle East.

We are confident that her vision and leadership will help Komera continue to grow and achieve our mission of empowering young women in Rwanda. We look forward to our future with Ashley and her impact on the communities we serve.
